Chauffeured To Stonehaven

Pat and I regularly make a journey to Stonehaven to collect Ice cream made by E.Giulianotti in Evan Street. This is without doubt a superb establishment. Easily the best IceCream in our know.

Part of the reason for my playing catch-up is that I required to be seen by the local GP practice urgently after I coughed up some blood. Big drama!

I was seen immediately and given a very thorough examination, which lasted about 80 minutes. The result was to carry on. The blood was likely to have been the result of heavy and prolonged coughing.

And so it has turned out to be.

Back to the IceCream. Donald Heggie knew about this medical drama and offered to drive us up to Stonehaven to collect the ice cream. It was a special order of MaltWhisky and Treacle Flavour. He had run out of his last delivery.

Donald duly turned up his BMW X5 and off we headed to Stonehaven.

We arrived and of course spent about 30 minutes or so discussing various flavours and also sampling them.

Now this turned into a Nostalgia Trip for Donald. The shop is a very long establshed business selling various Confectionery in the Original Shop Interior. Glass jars filled with delights are everywhere.

Donald’s mother owned a similar confectionery business in Cupar. Now I am old enough to have been a regular customer of Mrs Heggie’s establishment. I attended Bell Baxter School.

Pat had spent some time discussing Garlic Flavoured Ice Cream which was readily available in Gilroy, California where Pat grew up.

Of course, the window display features a chocolate rabbit.
