Figure in the Woods

It’s been a rather cold, grey and uninspiring day. We had a slow start then Merlin and I walked in the local woods, looping back via the village and the stream so we could wash our muddy feet.

Whilst in the woods we paused to appreciate the surroundings and I was drawn to this sweet chestnut tree. Its exuberant gesture seemed well suited to the first day of February and the joy of sensing the beginnings of spring in the woods.

Thanks for your good wishes for Andy. He got some painkillers and I’m relieved that he has had a better day.

Tonight I’m looking forward to chilli con carne and watching the latest episode of the Pottery Throw Down - it’s raku firing so the sparks will be flying!
