Fragile

I shot these grasses when I walked to our friends’ house to check on their post while they are away. It took me quite a while to get the depth of field right, because it was tricky to get the focus on the slender stems rather than the expanse of the Green and the cars in the background. The white circle is a car headlight on the High Road behind the Green. 

I managed to remember how to alter the settings to create a single point AF mode and then moved the camera around slightly until the grasses snapped into focus. (I’m still using back button focus, by the way, having never looked back once I mastered it.)

My photo rather sums up how I’m feeling at present. I’ve been struggling with a low mood for some time, and feel a bit fragile emotionally. The walk, and a few minutes’ play with the camera, helped a bit.
