Fig tree in the snow
Woke up to a light dusting of snow. Funny day for weather, snow, sleet, sunshine. We had a good phone call with cousin DoogieVanIsle and Impy, and hopefully we'll be able to have a visit in person soon.
Bill came down this morning for coffee. He's having an operation next Wednesday to remove a cancerous growth on one of his lungs. What a couple of years he's had! His sister is coming from Toronto like she did when he was hospitalized before. Luckily her daughter now lives in Victoria, so they have a comfortable place to stay. We'll keep an eye on his place until he gets home, hopefully by the end of next week if all goes well.
Last weekend G was trimming branches from the willows, and our neighbour Buffy stopped to say hello and suggest that we get together once her partner is feeling better. Then yesterday we got an email from her saying that he had been admitted to hospital on Monday. She asked if we could keep an eye on their place. They're so quiet that we hadn't noticed that they weren't around. We had a walk around their place yesterday and are happy to keep an eye on it until they're home.
All are concerned about the snow in the forecast, hoping that it won't interfere with travelling to and from the island.
Neighbourhood Watch in action, although we don't have many concerns in our neighbourhood, thank goodness.
Extra: snow in the forest
