Homeward Bound

Well, we make it back to Manchester with flights going smoothly - quite literally with minimum turbulence for a change - and much to our relief, our car starts after two months parked somewhere around the airport (we’re never sure where ‘Meet and Greet’ park cars).

Rather than driving home, there’s a detour to Liverpool Women’s Hospital where I have two appointments - nothing like getting back to ‘normal’ life straight away. We had intended for G to stop at Daniel & Solveig’s so he could sleep while I was at the hospital (and we’d have a chance to see Lili!) but we found out yesterday that all three of them had gone down with norovirus  and decided it would be unwise to go there, so I’ve booked a day room in a city hotel.

My first appointment is a pre-op assessment followed by an appointment with my consultant - all in all meaning I’m in the hospital for five hours. By the time I see my consultant I’m so tired I can’t even string a sentence together. Anyway, it looks as if I’ll be having some fairly major surgery in April.

At least G has been able to sleep and picks me up for the drive home where we do a quick emptying of our cases, put in the first load of washing and crawl into bed! We’ve had the most amazing time, but it’s actually good to be home!

Today’s blip is a paper sculpture from the lounge in Tokyo airport. Technically taken yesterday, but to be honest, I’m at the point when I’ve lost track of what day it is!

Thanks so much for your response to yesterday’s Tokyo sunset, and for following along with our Asian Adventure! I have the greatest admiration for for those of you who travel and keep up with other people’s journals - I find it hard enough to keep up with my own! Hopefully I’ll manage to get back to normal blipping very soon!
