Candlemas...

.......or the presentation of Jesus in the temple 40 days after Christmas.  As we held them up we and the candles were blessed.  It's the first time I have seen this done today.  I only know of candles being lit at Easter during the Easter Vigil.  It's such a beautiful ceremony.  Candles symbolise Christ as the light of the world in Church.

After Mass had a lovely catch-up with a friend I don't see often.
