She did it!
Not a bad night's sleep.
Got a message from my young padawan to say not to appear in the office until have 9am, she was on a roll. She'd been in work since 4am. The last day for her to submit her thesis.
I could sense the pressure today, so kept quite and waited for her to have the chats and laughs.
I had a few calls in the afternoon, so was able to leave her alone. I've got another training programme off the ground now. Training is not my bag, but I'm the only one leading the charge.
One final review of her thesis and presentation and she submitted an hour or so before her deadline. I'm dead proud of her. Not many people could have coped with everything she has had to cope with over the past couple of months, wedding planning, moving into her first house and some family issues.
You could see all the pressure and stress leave her and then she was laughing and joking and dancing. Took a couple of photos for her to celebrate this monumental moment. There were a few high fives.
I then took her to the pub to celebrate. I broke my no alcohol rule and celebrated with a whisky for her. We had a really good laugh and a joke. I left her with a friend then, they were going to have a girls weekend in London. I got a couple of hugs before I left. I still don't think she can believe that I came up to London just for this.
I got a text on the way home "Thank you best manager ever, legend"
Train home was fine.
Today I am thankful for:
1. My young padawan completing her masters thesis
2. A couple of hugs and a whisky to celebrate
