Line for the new market
Marufuji Japanese Market opened last weekend in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and Jill and I wanted to stop in to check it out. The parking lot was packed, and there was a 15- to 20-minute (and growing) line to get in the store. After circling several times and plenty of waiting, I found a parking spot.
We bought rice, noodles, snacks, and I am especially excited about the strips of A5 wagyu beef I got.
It also has a cafe, where I got a hojicha tea latte. Hojicha is my favorite tea. The latte was delicious. Afterward, we made stops at Michaels, Target, Best Buy, Trader Joe's and World Market. That evening we got dinner at the new Torchy's Tacos with my friend Ponch and his family. Torchy's began in Austin, Texas, and I'd visited its locations there several times. This is the farthest it has expanded. The food was excellent. I also loved seeing Ponch and company. It's nice seeing friends in person.
