The Returned

Up early for a little bit of a throw back weekend,

When I was in 2nd year of High School we hosted a student from a College in the Charente. The following year, in 1998, I went to stay with la famille Nélia for the first time, in their picture perfect home, complete with window shutters in semi rural France.

It's a place that's always felt like my second home - to feel such genuine acceptance and friendship from a match that was probably decided in a French classroom at Forfar Academy.

Landing into Limoges and knowing I've come back to somewhere that holds so many wonderful memories is special.

Seeing the messages the I wrote on the wall as a teenager, untouched to this day, and photo albums kept in pristine conditions even more so.
