Slightly worrying obsession
I'm becoming strangely fixated on hydrangeas. Did you know there are more than 70 varieties of this member of the saxifrage family (yes, I looked it up, we non-gardeners don't have these fascinating facts off pat!)
Having blipped my own bushes earlier I am now aware that other people have much bigger and better displays - do I sound a little bitter?
Driving into Manchester this afternoon I became aware that I was studying people's gardens thinking "that's a lovely colour" and "gosh what a big one". I even double parked at one point (the Ashes match at Old Trafford does cause parking problems outside hydrangea gardens) to take this photograph. Actually the colour of the shot does not really do justice to the luscious pink of the bush itself.
As the seventy varieties include shades between white - their natural colour - through pinks and blues to deep purple, depending on the soil they are grown in, I might just be blipping more!
