A fine session with Jonathan
I decided to arrange a session with Jonathan for the first time in several years. My back has been feeling sore at times and I thought a served would be a good present for myself. Jonathan has been my osteopath since the early 1990s when I loved in London and he had practice Harley Street. I knew him through friends in Stroud where he lived and he would come to his London practice two days a week.
Recently he moved out of his clinic in the town centre and his occasional clinic in Cheltenham. He had installed a wonderful hut in the grounds of his woodland home in the Slad valley, close to Slad village. It was my first visit and I was decidedly impressed especially by the underfloor heating and the views out over the valley.
It was a good session and I've arranged a second visit in the near future to complete the 'service'. It was a great to have a catch up too as we have many friends in common. As I left another client was arriving but I left my car in the woodland by the hut and walked just a few yards down to the Slad road with my camera. It was rather gray and grizzly but the rain held off. I stood on the footpath on the other side the road and took a panorama of three images. Unfortunately I cannot get it to upload as an 'Extra', probably because of its aspect ratio.
Slad village lies to the left and opposite to me on the far side of the valley above the Slad Brook is the much loved Swift's Hill, much loved as a nature reserve and described in loving terms by local writer Laurie Lee. I think I was told that once upon a time he had lived in Jonathan's cottage in the woods.
