Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Sunday and counting

I was up early this morning having slept badly in the spare room to allow our guests to sleep downstairs. I do not like single beds!
I left everyone to it, and headed off to church. It was Candlemas today, the celebration of the presentation of Christ in the temple. I always love to hear the story of Anna and Simeon and to have an excuse to sing the Nunc Dimitus, even in simple form. A celebration of age in the church, our congregation can empathise with that.
After church the other warden and I sat down with our web (she isn't a master and she's not a mistress either, what is she?) person and had a look at the website. We made a few corrections but I really don't feel that the words build a picture of our church and congregation well. Hopefully potential candidates will be able to see past it to us and not be distracted by the person who wrote most of it.
This afternoon both girls and one son in law came to visit and bid me God Speed. I realise just how lucky we are to have them so close by that they all know each other, and us, so well.
The girls paired off for a while, the two youngest in each family together and the two oldest. They just love being together. I found it hilarious when all four ended up together playing with Bonnie's toys in the playpen. 11, 8, 3 &1!
Two more days!
