Bread and Swords
I was installed as a prebendary of St Paul's Cathedral. Prebendaries received income from estates to make up their income, as priests at the cathedral. All that was done away with in the 19th century. The title is now honorific. The bread roll is symbolic of the payment the cathedral received at the time for the land. The 'badge' is the emblem of the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral. (Extra of early morning in the churchyard).
