Battered sausage anyone?
A firm favourite. As a wee boy we would visit the chippie once a week usually on a Saturday night. A battered sausage or a mock chop (?) or a red pudding were my firm favourites...oh and deepfried pizza - they folded it half so none of the grease was lost. Rather than chips I would go for potato fritters. I dread to think what the dubious meat content consisted of. More recently, on a visit to Anstruther, I thought I would revisit my youth. I opted for a red pudding supper. It was in truth rather dreadful, funny how time clouds the memory.
