Happy Fishmonger

My daughter and I enjoyed our visit to Hoddesdon as the market was on. Steve the fishmonger was happy as he was doing a roaring trade. I bought MrQ some jellied eels and two lovely swordfish steaks for our dinner. I made a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper and finely chopped echalion shallots. I fried them quickly at a high temperature and they were a lovely texture but disappointingly lacking in flavour. It not being BBQ weather, I think I should have grilled them to try to get that taste I used to love when I've had swordfish in Greece.
