Red Stanes o Assater
A windy day, poured down all day too, finally easing tonight. Dull and grey skies along with the rain.
Up early, headed to work. A day working on the mini essykert with Steve driving. Black bag waste along the small roads in Northmavine and Voe. Clinical waste around town before lunch. Back roads of Lerwick for paper waste this afternoon. No weather for walkies after work. Working in the shop again tonight, and a quiet evening. Feet up before bed.
A dull day for a work day out, and dull scenery most of the way. As we came into Northmavine, the geology changes, giving this striking reds from volcanic stones. They really do make beautiful croft houses, completely different to the rest of Shetland. I wouldn't mind getting some of this rock to build a garden wall around my house, it really does stand out, cheery on a dull day too. Taken at Assater, Northmavine.
