Learning to Sew

It’s been a damp day which made it feel rather chilly. I thought it a good opportunity to spend more time learning to use the sewing machine.

I made two drawstring bags. This is the better of the pair. It took a while with some unpicking of stitches taking place. The trickiest bit was sewing the channel for the cords. I salvaged the cord from an old bathroom light pull which had been in Mum’s sewing box for years - hence it’s looking a bit out of shape. I’m learned lots and enjoyed the process. It felt quite addictive.

Whilst sewing I looked out of the window and saw my neighbour’s bird feeder was being used by a group of long tailed tits as well as blue tits and great tits. After many years of bird watching it still gives me a thrill to see the birds feeding in the garden.

Hoping Monday has been kind to you.
