Not quite right

Last night I saw photos of the moon and a star (Venus?) close together. They looked good so I thought I would give it a go.
I have recently rediscovered and cleaned up my tripod and bought a new remote shutter release so I was equipped. I read up about sky photography on the web and sorted out the best settings before I went out
What I did not allow for was how to operate the camera and tripod in the dark. I did have my phone torch but using this meant I only had one hand to make the adjustments. I confess it was a struggle but finally I was happy with the setup and clicked the remote and the shutter shut. What it did not do was open up again. I waited for some time, I turned the camera off and back on, shone the torch into the lens and finally carried the whole lot into the summer house and turned the lights on. Finally the shutter closed and the resulting shot is todays blip.
I had further efforts, some actually worked, but they were totally uninspiring, and I do like this one even if it was a failure. I have to confess this shot was taken before midnight last night but I reason it was Monday somewhere so its OK
I might not do well in an astrological photo competition but if ever there is a Salvador Dali photo contest I should be in with a shout
