Van Gough
In Shrewsbury today with friend K. She had tickets for two at the Old Market Hall Cinema. We had coffee in the Cafe Bar and then took our seats in this lovely little intimate cinema and enjoyed 'Van Gough Poets and Lovers' This film explores Van Gough's years in the South of France where he revolutionised his style, turning the world around him into vibrant, idealised spaces and symbolic characters. The Ehibition of the ' Poets and Lovers' pictures at the National Gallery finished on the 25th January and the film is all about these particular paintings. Beautifully filmed and narrated and we both loved it.
Off for a bit of window shopping, some real time in Waterstones and then a tasty platter in a very nice Street Food restaurant.
VG's famous 'Starry Night' in extra.
