The Last Post?

We spent the morning in the garden, mainly chopping kindling and cleaning out the water butt which had become silted up so badly that no water would come out of the tap. 

We walk past this old metal post, sandwiched in a gap in the wall on our regular Sunday afternoon walk. Not sure what its purpose was, if it ever had one; there aren’t any others in the wall so presumably it wasn’t a fence post and it seems to have had this concrete cap put on in 1991.

Anyway thought it made a suitable subject for this week’s Derelict challenge.
