Long Walk, Long Talk

I missed my sister’s call, so called her back as I headed out for an afternoon walk. We talked for almost an hour, a record for us, I think, and it was such a good talk: relaxed, funny, sad, sweet. She had called to say our cousin Mary Ann (who also lives in Minot, ND) said her brother, Dale, had died that morning.  He had just turned 90 on 1/14 and had taken care of his wife for years and years. When they finally moved her to memory care, he went into a retirement home the same day and died within the week.
I am so glad there are 3 family babies coming due this Spring. Like little lambs. I hope all family talk becomes happy; enough of this death business already.
