Salt & Pepper pots

These two small shakers are part of a set of ten, inherited many years ago.

The lids can be removed by unscrewing them to refill with salt or pepper. Note the different shaped lids.

The natural patterns on them lead me to believe that they are made from elephant ivory.

There are extremely stringent laws regarding the sale of products of ivory and the advice given if no one wants them, is to donate them to a museum or destroy them.
