Where did the water go?

Last week almost everything green in this blip was under at least one metre of water. As you can see here, all that is left now is the existing mini lake at the centre of this park space in the middle of the hippodrome.

Around the lake is a large flat area covered in grass and around the edge is a bank about one to two metres high up to the footpath and then the gravel track which the horses trot on. If the river has a lot of water in and the tide is high then the water fills this basin rather than someone's house.

The dog did managed to find something interesting on the grass and had a good wriggle and made a right mess of his coat though. Thankfully it's easier to put his coat in the washing machine than the dog...!
