Old bones...
And not just ours :-)
Agnes and I had a lazy morning while D & A headed off to the driving range in Forfar.
When they returned we all headed out in search of lunch and found ourselves at The Mill in Forfar where we had an absolutely delicious lunch. Agnes was particularly delighted with her Bakewell tart and salted caramel ice cream!
From there we headed to the Meffan Museum and Art Gallery. Downstairs they were showing Rosie McGregor's first solo show entitled Crawling, which was her exploration of her experience of motherhood in detailed ink drawings. I found her drawings exquisite and emotional.
Also downstairs is a wonderful collection of Pictish stones found in the Angus area. Fascinating to read about them and the inscriptions on them.
Upstairs was am exhibition of paintings by Scottish artist James Torrington Bell. More traditional in style, it was fascinating to see his work close up and explore brush strokes and techniques and how he approached painting with oils and watercolours.
From there we headed back to the cottage for a relaxing evening with D & A planning golf for tomorrow and Agnes starting her 4th crochet project of this trip, and me taking a break from crocheting animal heads and starting the pram blanket for D & K's baby due late spring.
No dinner required after our large lunch but we did enjoy nibbling on the delicious Arran cheeses that Peter brought as a gift last weekend. So delicious with crackers, grapes, celery and melon. Thank you P :-)
As we headed to bed we realised we haven't had the TV on since we got here. Fantastic! :-)
