YOU KNOW ME...
...never one to miss a photo opportunity - not that Mr. HCB was that enamoured! However, I did say I would just take the back of his head and he was fine with that.
Mr. HCB hasn’t wanted to go to the barber to have his hair cut since his forehead has been quite sore, and I do understand that because he said the young man who cuts his hair is not that gentle - so his hair has got rather out of hand!
This morning I asked him if he would like me to cut his hair and make it look tidy. He thought about it for a minute and then said he would. I said I would be gentle with him and even that comment made him wince! I told him that instead of a barber, he would have his own “barbie” i.e. me! That made him laugh!
Our normal place to cut hair was in the kitchen; it’s easier to clean the floor out there, as we did during the lockdowns, so having got him sitting comfortably, I said I would begin!
I made sure he was wearing his old bathrobe and then had to decide which size basin to use on his head - well he did want a short back and sides, and I had the right equipment, as you can see!
I didn’t actually cut that much off and it does look better, but I did say that I would just take the normal amount he paid his barber, but he needn’t bother about a tip!
I would add that this is a “before” shot - but he refused to let me take an “after” shot - so I will have to take one “on the sly” sometime. However, I don’t think this will be my new profession - I would rather be taking photographs.
We are still waiting to hear about the removal of the other lesion on his forehead and hope that this won’t be too much longer and then it will all be healed well before the start of the cricket season in mid April.
The sun is shining and we are just about to go to visit friends for coffee, but at least we both look presentable now! Have a great day. M xx
