A Day Worth Recording

Dropfix

Part two of travelling to Torquay - pausing this time at Hestercombe to meet up with T&D and for E to get a snowdrop fix.

Not that many snowdrops here - this was the only area of snowdrops within a huge park - but it served the purpose.

The house itself is fairly empty.  It did have a book sale going on at the time and well, at three for £2 it seemed wrong to leave without a small pile...

I was fascinated to discover that, back in the days of gas lighting, the house had it's own private gasometer - a dinky version of the town-sized ones.  See the extra.  It held enough gas to light the house for 3 weeks.
