A day out in Padstow
As those of you who read our Blips regularly will know................ our project for 2025 is walking 100 of the 'I Walk Cornwall' walks within a year. When Ann first decided that would be a nice project for me, she said that all we had to do, was walk two walks a week. Easy peasy!!!
Mmmmmm................. best laid plans and all that.…..........Ann didn't factor in that she worked four days a week and once we'd done the walks in our own locality, we'd have to travel further afield to get to the start of a walk in the car. Or that we wouldn't have time to do a long walk when she finished work, (because it gets dark too early). She also didn't factor in, that in the winter, a lot of the walks are extremely muddy and she hates walking in mud. Obviously I don't mind. Nor did she think seriously about how much time we would be spending in our other home in Edinburgh throughout the year. All she thought was.................... 100 walks, that's only two a week and obv I need a walk every day..........................
Anyway, a challenge isn't a challenge unless it's challenging, so today off we went to Padstow (with our friend Charlotte) to do two, 'I walk Cornwall' walks.
Both walks were about three miles long, so first we did the 'Padstow Town' walk where I mainly had to stay on my lead. And then we did the 'Padstow to Harbour Cove' walk where we walked along lanes, through cabbage fields and then back along the beach and coastal path, and I was mainly off my lead having run about time.
When we got back into the town, we went into the 'Shipwrights Pub' for lunch and I immediately just lay down under the table in 'good dog mode', cos I was pretty tired. In fact I didn't move until the barmaid came and gave me a couple of biscuits. Yum!
I'm loving our 2025 project, but thinking about what else Ann is planning to do this year.................. I'm not sure if she's going to be able to help me complete it. Oh well, ho hum, all we can do is try. As I said before ..................... a challenge isn't a challenge unless it's challenging!!!
16 walks complete. Only another 84 to go. Lol!!
