Getting to know the ukulele

Icelandic singer-songwriter Svavar Knútur is a father of one of the children in our preschool and he's also a ukulelist who sometimes gives lessons for children and adults who want to learn to play the ukulele. 
A teacher in our school got the great idea to ask him if he could maybe come and give a little introduction to the instrument and teach us a few chords to get us started? Sure thing, and today I went to the first of two classes he'll be giving on a Tuesday afternoon. 
It was fun....it was challenging and difficult...and my fingertips are VERY VERY sore!

It's been 34 years since I tried to learn to play the guitar, but soon quit when I was heavily pregnant and it was getting difficult to handle the instrument in front of my big belly ;-)
