An ordinary life....

Hot stuff...

No alarms set this morning so we all slept till after 9am.  Woke up to a beautiful sunny morning.  Lovely :-)

Breakfasts of choice were cereal and toast and we sat in the sunny south facing kitchen chatting and enjoying the view.

Decided to head to Montrose for lunch and found ourselves at Charleton Farm.  We had a very nice lunch.  I was too full for dessert but D and Adrian enjoyed their banoffee tart (see extras)  D's mum and dad honeymooned in Montrose back in 1957.  We think the fact if has a rather lovely links golf course may have made it the destination of choice, certainly for D's dad :-)

After lunch Agnes and Adrian had a wander in the town's Main Street and D and I searched out the coast.  Beautiful blue skies and sea (also in extras) but it was bitter cold so we didn't linger for long.

Picked Agnes and Adrian up and headed back to the cottage and decided to light the wood burner to take the chill from our bones.  It certainly did that!  And the scent of the fire took Agnes and I right back to our childhoods, growing up in a mining village where every house had a real fire.  Memories of impaling a slice of bread on a toasting fork and toasting it on the embers, sitting on the fireside rug straight from the bath and drying our hair at the fire during the power cuts in the late 1970s, and coming in from school on winter days, wet coat and boots off and sitting in front of the fire warming our toes.  Happy, happy days.

Dinner over and another evening of relaxation.  This holiday is bliss :-))

Phone call from PRI this afternoon booking me in for my pre-op assessment on Monday.  That brought me back to earth with a bump for a while.
