Dolly's Day

TOON, TOON, BLACK AND WHITE ARMY

Walked down to the village this afternoon to drop off a bag of stuff at the charity shop and do some food shopping.  When I got home I watched TV for a bit until it was time to get ready to go out to Newcastle.

Newcastle United had a match this evening - 8pm kick off.  The second leg of the Carabao Cup semi final ... they were playing Arsenal.  The score in the first leg was Arsenal 0 Newcastle 2.  Even with the 2 goal lead I was still nervous but in the end I didn't need to be as Newcastle were brilliant.  The atmosphere in the ground was amazing and every player in the team played well.  Newcastle got a quick goal on the 4th minute - but it was disallowed... offside. However we didn't have to wait too  long for a goal that counted.  Jacob Murphy scored for The Toon on 19th minute.  And in the second half Anthony Gordon got the ball in the net to put Newcastle 2 nil up.  Newcastle's defence was solid and Arsenal were unable to score so with the aggregate score being 4 nil to Newcastle they go through to the final of the Carabao Cup on 16th March. They will face either Liverpool or Spurs - their game is played tomorrow.

My blip shot is for Wide Wednesday - the theme is " Round or curvy". You can see the curved stand full of fans in the background and the fan in the foreground taking photos wearing a round hat. Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting

Ive added a couple of Extras.  One is of Johnny " Blue Hat " Davis who played a wonderful rendition of " Local Hero " on the saxophone before kick off.  He,s a member of Sam Fender's band ( Sam is a local singer who should have performed this evening but at the moment hes not singing as hes been advised to rest his vocal chords.). The other Extra is a photo Becky sent me.  She was watching the match on TV and was looking out for me in the crowd... and she managed to spot me. ( you also get a close up of goalscorer Jacob Murphy in his tight shorts ).

Getting home was no problem this evening.  My bus came on time and it wasn't too full.

Steps today -  11,850
