Punch

Advertising for Punch Havana cigars.

Strength conditioning class at the gym first thing; more movement than the Pilates classes, similar requirements for balancing on one foot .. Came back by Mellis for cheese, then along St Stephen's Street.

Punch is in what was Mr Purves' lighting shop, now under new ownership. A very sociable new owner, delighted to talk to me about the history of the shop, and how many people came to tell him how generous, as well as eccentric, Bill Purves had been. Obituary Mentions the Edinburgh Canal Society and the Waverly Paddle Steamer.

Afternoon walk to investigate a new mobile crane. It's at the building site at the end of Dunedin Street, on the opposite side to the big post crane. Then around by Victoria Park and Goldenacre. The flock of curlews was still feeding on the sports field, mixed with some oystercatchers.

Evening wine and cheese with our occasional neighbours in the building.
