DerelictWeek - Desiccated Hydrangea Head

Not needing to set the alarm today, I woke late at around 9am and feel so much better for it - thankfully almost back to normal healthwise. First thing I did was to post my backblip for yesterday and catch up with comments.

Because I lost two days at the start of this week feeling grotty with the gastric bug, I felt it was best not to drive all the way round to Chesham for a planned get-together with friends there, and sent apologies on our WhatsApp group. Let’s hope that’s the last thing that needs to be cancelled for the foreseeable future. So I‘ve remained at home on this cold, grey and rainy day doing necessary bits and pieces and having a break from rushing around. Bills have been paid, including a hefty and (hopefully) final invoice from my (hopefully) final conveyancing solicitor. They’ve emailed to say that they now have all the required documents to complete the transfer of the bungalow into my sole name and that they will go ahead with the Land Registry application now that I’ve settled up all the fees. I dare not ask how long this application will take….. What a relief that, after more than 18 months and literally stacks of legal paperwork, the finish line is in striking distance. I won’t be cracking open the champagne until I actually see the Deeds in my name with my own eyes.

Today’s blip shows the desiccated dereliction of the hydrangeas at the bottom of the garden. Dad always told me not to cut off the dead heads until the frosts had finished, so here is the skeletal beauty of the remnants. Many thanks to Marlieske for hosting the DerelictWeek challenge.
