That Will Do!

Viburnum

My poor Viburnum tinus (Laurustinus) was a victim of Storm Eowyn; it consisted of two main branches and already one half was being supported by a line from the beech. During the storm the other half bent in the other direction and has gradually stooped lower until horizontal, the foliage is touching the ground. It still lives; the leaves are still glossy and green, it was just beginning to bloom and cream petals are opening from their pink buds. I believe the variety is Eve Price.

It would make me sad to lose it as my father gave me a different species which, truth to tell, is not as attractive as mine, which was well established in the garden. I was reluctant to accept but he would insist - of course, his survived the storm without losing so much as a leaf.

For my Flower Friday blip I was obliged to bend down to take the photograph rather than reach up. But that is no consolation. Thanks to BikerBear for hosting the challenge.
