And after!

Chris finished painting today and put the pictures up and left Vikram’s new chainsaw as a centrepiece on the side table.  We have fallen wood in the garden, not the stuff we’re leaving for the insects but useful logs, and there are many in the woods to chop up and leave to season for next year.  We all spent quite a lot of time telling V that he needs protective gear before using it. I am on it!

Anyway, very pleased with the colour, F&B’s Mizzle, and with the finish on this - beams are difficult to pair with colour but this sets off the pictures and makes the stone of the fireplace stand out strongly.  The colour changes all the time, it looks very green here but at times in full sunlight it’s more blue and often more grey.

Didn’t rush back from Bradford first thing as I wanted to be off peak so felt fairly rested once I was on the train and did a lot of emails on the way down.

Arrived at lunchtime and went to my barn office to catch up on things.

Soothing evening watching another episode of Miss Austen which was so good, with Keeley in fine form but also the younger cast, Patsy Ferran in particular, very good indeed.
