On the kitchen windowsill..

…..some precious things.
A felted vase holder made by my friend, a ceramic elephant holder painted by one of the grandchildren and the lovely glass container one of the presents at Christmas from the family.
The family have been here for birthday cake and smoothies, for both mine and Stephen’s birthdays, (his being today). So ends our birthday week.
They bought me a lovely outsize snuggly hooded fleece jumper, which fits perfectly over my clothes, and will be really good for when I’ve had my next hip operation in three weeks time. Stephen was given another book, “Things to make and do in the Forth Dimension”! The one they gave him for Christmas was all about Pi! A real mathematical puzzler!
The chocolate cake I made was pronounced very good and suitably demolished. The rest of the Gluten, dairy and nut free one was taken back home with them.
It hasn’t really become daylight today, being cold, misty and damp with drizzly rain.
We had a lovely meal last night at the hotel and met some very interesting people, and had some good conversations.
And just like that we are galloping on through our shortest month.
I hope everyone is having as good a weekend as they can, and managing to have some time away from the news…..
