Another work in progress

I took this photo at my workshop this afternoon which involved starting a quilt using a quilt-as-you-go technique. I had been curious to find out how you did it and I wasn't disappointed. It entailed sewing the pieces directly onto the wadding and backing, without sewing them together first. 

This is the first of what I hope will be 16 squares and it measures 14 inches approximately. (Quilting often uses imperial measurements as it's dominated by the United States. I was brought up on imperial and then largely moved to metric but am now having to remember how imperial works again.) I have three weeks to get it all done - time will tell!
