(I think this looks better in Large, with the black background.)

The best thing about the new Mexican place is the fresh tortillas: little balls of dough are pressed to a uniform thickness in a large machine, then thrown on the hot griddle where they put on quite a show, puffing up and charring and becoming very beautiful and delicious. The next step is deciding on tacos, burritos, or quesadillas; then you choose fillings; then toppings and sauces.

I spent a couple of lovely hours in the sunny garden, starting to clean up one of the vegetable beds and thinking about what to plant next. Everything is pretty overgrown with winter weeds, so it takes some time to find the dirt! This is always a tricky time of year for yard work: if it rains again, the weeds will just pop right back up, but mainly I just enjoy being out there in the fresh air.
