Uncle Davey
Our lovely friend David, or Uncle Davey as Olivia calls him, arrived late afternoon yesterday.
This morning David and hubby had a wander around Brussels visiting a couple of museums and sampling some belgian beers in the sunshine. In order to let the boys have a nice relaxing time I took the kids to Tervuren so that we could have a scoot/cycle in the park and Olivia could spend some of her birthday money on some new books at our favourite book shop. I actually had a surprisingly lovely time with the kids as:
1. They didn't bicker.
2. Dexter didn't have one tantrum.
3. Olivia didn't answer me back like a teenager.
4. I had a lovely potter around the bookshop whilst the kids entertained themselves by either playing at the arts and crafts table, playing with the toy animals and cars or looking at books.
5. As a reward for being good I took them to a cafe for ice cream only for them to say that they didn't want ice cream but would prefer a lollipop each and who was I to argue as I only had to spend 50 cents and didn't have to clean up melted ice cream.
This afternoon we all went to our local park where the extremely patient Dave played football with Dexter and laughed at his ridiculously long run up to kick a ball and allowed Olivia to climb all over him and take photos with the little camera. She's a big fan of Uncle Davey!
Oh yes, Olivia has got red hair in the photo as she has been self styling with her new red hair mascara.
