Last Survivor
Once part of the now demolished coal mining village of Bothwellhaugh this cottage is lucky to remain standing as all about it has been developed.
Immediately to the rear the M74 thunders past and in front what is now Strathclyde Country Park. The cottage escaped the excavation to create Strathclyde Loch which flooded Bothwellhaugh.
When Strathclyde Park opened in 1978 the cottage was used as visitor centre and the base for Park Rangers.
