Friendship Store

(or Youyi) is the cutesy name they give state run stores in China that cater to diplomats, expats, and tourists. Originally I think they were exclusive to foreigners, but they've loosened the restrictions a bit. It's a great place to pick up foreign groceries, bootleg DVDs, tea, and of course a bespoke wardrobe! I went to the tailor to fix some shorts and make a shirt short sleeved after getting fed up with sewing the elbows about a million times. Some of the staff brought their kids to work today and this little girl was absolutely darling. She found a big square of blue linen and turned it into a cape.

I was torn between this shot and one I took earlier when she was pretending to write up a bill. She even gave it an official stamp!
