It's that time again

Walking round town today it was pretty obvious that tourist season has begun. It's not in full swing yet but there are distinct groups of people marvelling at the sights in a way the locals never seem to do. This family group spent ages looking at and photographing the Castle.

this wasn't the shot I intended to get. I finished up at work just before 12 and had to kill some time before meeting Roz at half Two. The first bus that came was the number eight so I jumped off up near chambers street with the intention of heading to the Museum to see if a friend was working there so he could get me into the Pixar exhibition for free, unfortunately I didn't see him anywhere and didn't have enough cash on me to pay my way in. Anyway while I was on the bus I decided that for my shot for the day I'd head to George Square, climb the tree in the middle (something I haven't done in about 13 years) and get a shot looking down from up in the branches.Unfortunately when I got there the gates to the square were locked. I asked a student who reckoned that it had been open last week and was possibly only closed today due to the bank holiday. I might have to go back for another crack at it tomorrow.

On the way back down I got a few shots of skaters enjoying the sun on Bristo Square. This was the best of them, if only because it was the only trick I photographed that was landed (not much changes at Bristo then). I decided to go for the tourist one as there have been a lot better skating blips and I thought this summed up the start of tourist season quite well.

Oh, also on the way to meet Roz i stopped in at the design fair thing at the bottom of the mound, which wasn't the most exciting design thing I've seen but is wrth checking out if you're passing as it's free and there's prizes on som eof the stalls.
