Chaffinch

A female chaffinch in the garden.  She is presenting some signs of bumblefoot, a bacterial infection and inflammatory reaction caused by certain bacteria.  This is one of the reasons the RSPB has stopped selling bird tables and is asking people not to use them.  Unless they are regularly scrubbed, bird tables are a common source for the relevant bacteria.
