The shores of the Gambia River, outside Jufureh

My life has not been one, smooth road running from day one to today. Rather I look at it as a chain. A chain made of links of many sizes, shapes, and varieties. All linked to get me to where I am today, but each one a segment of my life.

This photo is from the 'link' of my life when I worked for eight years as a fundraiser for a major international NGO.

I was blessed, and I do mean blessed, to work there. I met one of my life's best friends there and also was able to undertake ten tours to various locations around the globe to see our work.

This photo is from our tour of Senegal and The Gambia. We had taken a small boat up the Gambia River from Banjul to visit Jufureh (the home village of Kunta Kinte of Roots fame, and the surrounding areas.

This girl was sitting on a canoe made from a kapok tree and was lost in thought .... I have always wondered what they were.
