The Cathedral at St David's

Our friend David has a star in the refurbished shrine to St David dedicated to his late daughter, Sian, here so it was something of a personal pilgrimage for us to pay a visit to this beautiful cathedral. Sian was born with serious heart and blood circulation problems and always knew she'd need a complicated and dangerous operation to try to prolong her life at some point. She led a full life into her twenties, training as a speech therapist and proving to be a talented cellist; she was always cheerful and refused to let her difficulties get her down. She made it through the op but sadly wasn't strong enough to survive the various complications that ensued. She passed away a few years ago now - the shrine is equallly bright and inspiring.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed watching the surfers and Whitesands Bay and a walk to St David's Head in glorious sunshine.
