MY NEW CAMERA

A SUCCESSFUL DAY ALL ROUND AND SO MUCH RELIEF.

First and foremost we were up at the crack of dawn and caught the 7.20 train to Lancaster this morning.  We didn't dare risk leaving until the next one because if it was cancelled we wouldn't be in time for our appointment at 9.30.

Anyway we went to Bob and Berts for coffee and breakfast, one of us had an enormous "mini" breakfast and one of us had poached eggs on toast - I did not have the enormous one!!!??

Anyway we got to our appointment in plenty of time and were only kept waiting 15 minutes so that was good.  We saw a Consultant and they confirmed the news - THE CANCER HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED!!!!!!  Everything else is fine - the lymph nodes were clear and the surgical site.

I have now started on a tablet which I have to take for at least 5 years, possibly longer.  I will also have to have radiotherapy with a booster, The Consultant was unsre whether this would be for 5 or 10 days.  It used to be 15 but they have now discovered that giving a more instense dose for only 5 days works just as well, because of the booster it may have to go over to 10 days.

Unfortunately I won't know about this for a few more weeks yet.  It's supposed to 6 to 8 weeks sincesurgery - it's 2.5 weeks since Surgery so possibly another 4 to 6 weeks.  This could mean that I MAY not make my holiday in Fife, or more importantly our Great Nieces Wedding but I'm going to do everything I can to go as we really want to be there.  The CNS did say that at my first meeting in Preston I should let them know of my plans to see if they can accommodate it - KEEP EVERYTHING CROSSED FOR THAT PLEASE!!!

The next success is - last night I completed the lego camera build - yeah!!!!  It's amazing what you can build with lego these days.  As you can see you can even build a roll of film and there is a role inside the camera!!!

The kit I have I could dismantle it and build two other different sorts of camera (one a movie camera) but I'm not doing that - this is more like my camera and I'm old enough to remember film cameras so this is it for me.  NO-ONE MUST GO NEAR IT NOW AS I DO NOT WANT IT TO COLLAPSE AGAIN.

That's all for now.  Do take care and stay safe and I will see  you all tomorrow.
