Calm

"I haven't actually got a ticket."

This might have been the first thing Dan said to me when we met at Heathrow, this morning, but perhaps we said hello first.

Either way, it led to a tense few minutes until we were in front of the very helpful lady at the Virgin Airways desk, who assured me that a passenger number, which Dan did have, and his passport would suffice.

Honestly.

Still, despite Dan's hangover from his farewell drinks, we had an enjoyable breakfast together, and then he went off to security and I set off back to Salford, relieved that Dan was safely on his way.

(I've been convinced for the last two weeks that he was going to lose his passport, which he carries around as ID having lost his driving licence some time ago.)

And in the late afternoon, I walked down to The Old Pint Pot for a couple of beers with Yoss. Today's photo is the view down the Irwell from the stairs that lead from the Crescent down to the pub. Beautiful.
