Leftover cakes

I blipped about these cakes in one of my first blips about 14 years ago.

Here is what I wrote:
"Leftover cakes
These cakes used to be made with leftovers of Christmas sweets.
At the time when nothing could be thrown away in the kitchen, our mothers and grandmothers used the sweets left after the Christmas season and made cakes with them.
The custom was to eat them before 'Lent' started, which is why they are still called 'Carnival cakes', bearing in mind that Carnival always precedes 'Lent'
The fact is that today nobody makes Christmas sweets at home, and nobody makes these cakes at home either., but you can find them easily at a confectionery!"

I didn't want to take you back in time, so I brought all the text and the Carnival Cakes back here again, but these cakes are new, not the same I blipped in 2011!!!

In the extra the view of Sierra Nevada and the old district of Albaicin from the door of the bakery where I saw these cakes. I have blipped this view many times, but I know you all like it as much as I do.
