Had to take this one

The Corbridge Chamber Music Festival continues until the last concert tonight. Last night we stayed after the 7.30 concert for the late night, candlelit concert at 10pm. The main piece was The Seafarer by Sally Beamish. It's for String Trio, narrator and illustrations. It was quite amazing but slightly spoilt by the problems getting set up at the beginning. A joke that begins, "How many musicians and church stewards does it take to change a light bulb?" came to mind. All was well in the end.

Today we had lunch at J and D's house. It's a sort of Festival tradition now. Here is their daughter, K, roped in to help with lunch. J is an artist and when I saw this large painting on the dining room wall, I just had to ask K to pose in front of it. She concluded that being a model is hard work!

The afternoon concert was a trip on the Orient Express - great fun.

Remember the nice Spaniard I met yesterday? He has seen the staff accommodation now and it apparently is really bad. I'm trying to help him find a room to stay in in the village. I expect that if he complains, he won't have a job any more. Hmm.
