Smile please

Six monthly check up at the dentist today.
It took me a moment to realise that the man who greeted me in the waiting room was my son’s close friend from school. We see him occasionally but it was the unexpected context that surprised me.
It made me smile when he asked when I’d recently heard from ‘Cabbage’- David’s teenage nickname. They are both 53 this year! Perhaps the name will stick forever
