Temperate Rainforest Remnant?

I’ve been reading a book about the lost temperate rainforests of the Uk , there are just a few scattered remnants left of what used to be a large forested area characterised by trees dripping with ferns, mosses and lichen’s with thick under-storeys carpeted with with the same type of vegetation .

It struck me as we travelled through the peak District earlier today that the stretch of road featured in the photograph could be a remnant , an area of heavy rainfall , trees dripping with climbers , thick carpets of mossy green undergrowth. It’s not a brilliant capture as we were moving at speed but it gives a flavour of what it’s like . I really like atmospheric feel of this bit of the journey. It’s very close to the village of Eyam which went into lock down during the time off” The Black Death ,” in order to prevent the spread of the plague to the surrounding villages . I feel very drawn to this bit of Derbyshire, we just need to find a decent place to park Ruby the Motorhome.
